ARTSONIA information,updates, and tips
Thank you to everyone who verified your accounts! I am very grateful to all the parents and guardians involved who support the students' artworks and our online art gallery! Thanks to chrome books, students are visiting the site directly to add their artist statements and view comments made on their artworks! I wanted to share some tips for using the online gallery.
1. Add fan club members! Do you have any family members who live nearby or out of state? You can add their email as a "fan club" member! Fan club members will also receive an email when a student's artwork is posted, and they can comment on the artwork as well! If you have 5 fan club members, your child received the "Popular Artist" Award!
2. Check your accounts whenever you wish. Since fan club members can comment on your child's artwork, you have the power to approve the comment to show! When you check into your child's account, browse through any comments made! When you child reaches 5 comments, they receive the "Rave Review" Award!
3. Aim for the Hall of Fame! If your child receives all three awards (Portfolio Award, Popular Artist Award, and Rave Reviews Award), they will appear on our school's hall of fame list! Students who reach hall of fame will also be presented an award at the end of the school year during the award ceremony!
4. Does your child make artwork at home? Download the app and upload it! Over the summer, my daughter took a ceramics class and I as able to upload pictures of her projects for all our family members to see. Artsonia is a great portfolio tool that gathers memories of your child's creativity. Even if you can't save all the work they make, having a digital image can be a forever memory!
5. Moving? We can transfer your account! Artsonia is used in many schools across the country. If you move to another town, state, or transfer to another school, we can easily have your account moved to that school. This way, you do not lose any of your images!
If you have any questions or concerns about Artsonia, feel free to contact me at [email protected]

what's coming up in art???
During October, many students will be creating projects that are "seasonal" inspired. We create pumpkins in many artworks, as well as fall-colored leaves. Students will be introduced to artists, such as Edvard Munch, Andrew Wyeth, and Pablo Picasso. Projects will not be "holiday-based," but if students wish to add their own detail, I allow them to be creative with their artwork.
If you need to reach me at any time with questions about the projects, please contact me at [email protected].
